The Bush Administration and the US Congress have a very good working knowledge of how to destroy, of how to sow the seeds of destruction and tension throughout the world. Our war against Afghanistan, our war against Iraq, our military aid to democracies and dictatorships alike, sometimes providing military aid to both sides of a conflict. Peace has never been created at the end of a gun.

This war with Iraq does nothing to create permanent, lasting peace in this world but continues our policy of control and domination of the rest of the world, sowing the seeds of hatred and resentment, the very foundation of terrorism. As you sow, so shall you reap! Is it a wonder that the United States is the number one target of terrorists? Is it a wonder that the United States has one of the highest rates of crime and the highest percentage of our population in prisons? Is it a wonder that violence is such a dominant force in our schools? AS you sow, so shall you reap!

Consider that the United Nations charter states, "Since wars begin in the minds of men, it is the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed;" and yet, we continue to rely on strategies that ignore the mind and maim matter. We continue to rely on outdated approaches to combating terrorism that includes the use of force and the escalation of violence, death, destruction, stress and tension, the very fuel that feeds the fire. We must move away from this paradigm and create a new paradigm, a paradigm that co-creates permanent, lasting peace with nations, a paradigm that works with nations to build confidence and a lasting friendship. We must co-create more harmonious, life supporting international relations with all nations through the export of sustainable technologies. Only by co-creating a friendship with nations can we create peace within the minds of men.
